It may be cliche to say that movies and TV are an ‘escape’ for me, but escaping is a fundamental function of any art, and to me, that is its greatest value. This doesn’t mean that it must be an escape into something better than the life you’re currently living. An escape is a portal to discovery of something, anything; a world, a person, a life, or just a feeling.

I called this site Extrasensory because it was the only word which seemed adequate enough to describe how movies and TV aided my thinking and shaped my beliefs of art and the world. The word is defined as “awareness of information about events external to the self not gained through the senses and not deducible from previous experience.”
